Chief of Intelligence denies CIA/Mossad operations in the Region
Masrur Barzani, director of the KRG's Intelligence Agency, the Parastin, speaks of his agency's participation in securing the region and stabilizing Iraq.
In an interview with the London-based Arabic newspaper Asharaq Al-Awsat, chief of the Kurdistan Region Protection Agency (or Parastin, in Kurdish), Masrur Barzani, denied the existence of any American CIA or Israeli Mossad operatives inside the region. He also highlighted the nature of their work and the state of relations with security establishments in the region and in Iraq.
The newspaper correspondent asked Barzani for a clear explanation on whether foreign intelligence agencies such as the CIA or the Mossad train elements of the Parastin, a Kurdish regional intelligence agency.
"Frankly, if you want the complete truth from me, this news is not true at all. The problem is that there are some who deliver these rumors without even knowing about the nature of affairs in the region," said Barzani. However, he did not hide the fact that there are attempts of spying by neighboring countries inside the region but not by Baghdad...
